Dialogue through Film
Events
We bring together members of Jerusalem’s three main communities to foster mutual understanding through the power of cinema. Film serves as a tool for dialogue, allowing local directors to screen works that reflect pressing issues within their communities, opening a window into diverse experiences and viewpoints. Following each screening, discussion panels create a safe space for open dialogue, breaking down misconceptions and building empathy. This approach highlights shared challenges and nurtures a foundation for deeper connection and cooperation across divides.
Lectures on the East Jerusalem Perspective
We coordinate with Israeli youth groups preparing for the army to provide firsthand insight into the lived experiences of Palestinians in East Jerusalem. For many, it is their first ever in-depth discussion with a Palestinian. By sharing the Palestinian perspective, we aim to humanize ‘the other’ and deepen the understanding of the socio-political complexities that shape the region. This engagement challenges preconceived notions and fosters empathy, encouraging young Israelis to approach their roles with greater awareness and sensitivity. In this way, we build bridges of understanding essential for a more compassionate and informed future.
