"Peleg Rioters Block Jerusalem

For the first time since the death of Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, leader of the Jerusalemite Peleg, and at the behest of the members of the ‘Peleg Council’ [2], tens of rioters are bombarding the streets of Jerusalem.
Last night (Wednesday), a student from Kol Torah Yeshiva was arrested while driving on route 90. When the police found out they were dealing with a draft evader, the boy was handed over to the military police. In response, Peleg's “Council for Saving The Torah World," as directed by their rabbis, decided to go out and protest today, making the statement that despite the loss of their spiritual leader, they are still putting up a fight against their community's draft."

Selected Comments:
-"My entire street stinks because of them! What about the Halacha (Jewish Law) of "don't do unto others what you would not want done to you?"
-"Oh, but the 'holy marathon' Is allowed to block the street"."

0202 Editor's Notes:
[1] Peleg Yerushalmi (the Jerusalem Sector) – a minority group in the Haredi-Litvish community, who until recently, were under the leadership of Rabbi Shmuel Aeurbach, who passed away a few weeks ago. Peleg members differ from the main Haredi community in their extremist ideology, especially their refusal for any sort of collaboration with the army, not even to receive an exemption from the army.
[2] Peleg Moetzet (Peleg Council) – Following the death of leader Rabbi Auerbach, the Peleg assembled a council of rabbis to take over his leadership.
