“During the elections for the Jerusalem Rabbinate, Rabbi Moshe Lau called. He was then running for the position of Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi of Jerusalem and asked to meet. It was clear to us that we would support a Zionist Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Stern, [1] but of course we were willing to meet.

Today, as on every eve of Passover and just before every Rosh Hashana [Jewish New Year], he called to wish happy holidays.

It is impossible not to appreciate such a person.”
